Uganda Eyes Oil Revenue to Fund Mega Infrastructure Projects

Uganda is moving closer to becoming an oil-producing country. The East African Crude Oil Pipeline and the Hoima refinery are expected to unlock billions in revenue. Authorities have pledged to use oil income to invest in roads, health, and education. However, watchdogs warn of the need for transparency and environmental oversight. Uganda’s Petroleum Authority has promised regular reporting to ensure accountability.
